In 2019, the long and huge exteriors look a little moderate. It echoes the persona of a truck than of a luxury SUV vehicle, all because it’s 224.4 inches long and 80.5 inches wider. However, going by the commanding size and length of Suburban, there’s no match for this vehicle. It’s a perfect match for big families. In the top grade Premier, you’ll get more exterior style with the power-retractable assist step function which is available with perimeter lighting. 

Powered by the V8 engine, it’s not a sports-inspired car. Instead, it’s a well-composed luxurious truck that gets you a balanced and enjoyable ride. It comes with standard, front active aero shutters that enhance the aerodynamics of Suburban while driving on the highway. And, to get best off-roading capability it’s recommended that you opt for 4WD transmission layout. The lightweight suspension ensures the smooth ride while enhancing the fuel economy as well. Though, handling is responsive and acts actively as per user input. But, this big SUV is not well suited for city rides, otherwise, you might face a lot of difficulties while moving around.

Suburban gets you two engine options, a 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 that’s mated with 6-speed automatic transmission, and 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 is mated with 10-speed automatic transmission. The first one is the best choice for fuel-efficient rides, whereas the later one gets you the power that you seek from the power trucks. The 5.3L V8 engine comes standard among all the grades of Suburban. And, it can generate a maximum power of 355 hp at 5600 rpm, torque of 383 lb.-ft. at 4100 rpm, and towing capability of up to 8,300 lbs. Moreover, the 6.2L V8 enfine is available with only RST 6.2L Performance Package, that’s available on the Premier trim. This engine can produce a maximum power of 420 hp at 5600 rpm, and torque of 460 lb.-ft. at4100 rpm. 

On the safety front, Suburban is equipped with many features that ensure a safe ride. Like advanced adaptive cruise control that works in synchrony with the forward automatic braking system is a great help while riding on highways. Plus, you’ll get lane keep assist with lane departure warning, that monitors road lines and keep you in the same lane when it detects a sudden change in the lane. The rear vision camera comes standard with every grade of Suburban and makes it easier while parking this giant SUV. Moreover, teen driver technology is impressive and smart, it encourages young riders to learn good driving habits. It generates a driving report card based on the frequency of activation of safety features. Plus, it mutes the audio if front occupants aren't wearing seat belts. In terms of braking, Suburban stops confidentially from 60–0 mph in just 131 feet, though these numbers might not be the best when compared with its competitors. But, going by the size, there’s no doubt that the braking capacity of Suburban is quite impressive. 

Suburban is selling from 1935, and that makes it one of the most trustable and reliable full-size SUV. There’s no doubt it’s America’s best-selling family car. But, if you are planning to get one, then you should think twice. As going by its size, it's not a recommendable vehicle for the daily city commute. However, Suburban is a perfect match for enjoying long rides with the family. It’s well equipped with many features, that adds value and make it one of the best luxury SUV. Moreover, it’s a comfortable and convenient SUV, it comes with standard remote start, and is designed smartly to accommodate and entertain up to 9 passengers. However, the steering lacks feedback and braking is also not as per what its competitors offer.
