Chevrolet Equinox

Awarded as the most dependable compact SUV, according to the survey of 2016 vehicles, the Ford Equinox is a great amalgamation of technology, entertainment, safety features, and performance. The Chevrolet Equinox 2019 poses a street-smart design, giving it a bold, confident look. The Equinox is offered in four variants - L, LS, LT, and Premier, available in three engine options - 1.5 L Turbo, 2.0 L Turbo, and 1.6 L Turbo-Diesel. A switchable all-wheel-drive option is also available in LS, LT and Premier variants, which enhances traction and control on slippery or snow-covered roads. Upfront, the 2019 Crossover wears a wide, two-tiered grille flanked by one of three headlight types: halogens on base L and LS trims, HIDs on the Equinox LT, and LEDs on the Equinox Premier. The rear poses an upright look which is more like a minivan than a crossover. The chrome exposed exhaust outlets are peppier than before. There is a generous amount of boot space, the 60/40 split-folding rear seats fold flat to create a generous 63.9 cubic feets, so there’s no shortage of space. On the Premier variant, the hands-free gesture liftgate opens with just a tender kicking motion of your foot. Moreover, a programmable memory height can be set for easy reach or to accommodate areas with low ceilings. Inside the cabin, you will be greeted to an attractive and mostly well-configured interior. The seats are quite comfortable and there is enough legroom in both the rows. Headroom can be a bit irritating for some taller populace. The Equinox comes standard with a seven-inches touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. This infotainment tech also includes Chevy's Teen Driver monitor, which can track your kid's driving habits, allowing you to set a speed warning and even set a speed limiter.  It has an adjustable electric steering wheel with audio controls mounted over it. To charge your devices, it comes with standard USB ports, including Type A and Type C outlets. Two 12-volt outlets are also available - one up front and one in the cargo area. The base variant of the Equinox with FWD comes powered with a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, Turbo engine which produces a max power of 170hp at 5,600 rpm and a peak torque of 275Nm between 2,500 to 4,500rpm. This power is transmitted to the front wheels through a six-speed shiftable, automatic transmission. Chevrolet claims it can return a combined MPG of 28. Safety features on the base variant include Chevrolet Connected Services, LED daytime running lamps, rear child security door locks, StabiliTrak, electronic stability control system with traction control, teen driver system and tire pressure monitoring system. The price range of the Equinox 2019 starts at $24,995 for the base variant and goes up to $36,295 for the Premier diesel variant (all prices are MSRP). There are 13 colors to choose from - Cajun Red Tintcoat, Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, Nightfall Gray Metallic, Sandy Ridge Metallic, Ivy Metallic, Storm Blue Metallic, Silver Ice Metallic, Summit White, Mosiac Black Metallic, Pepperdust Metallic, Orange Burst Metallic, Kinetic Blue Metallic, and Pacific Blue Metallic. The Chevrolet Equinox stands against the likes of The Ford Escape and the Honda CR-V.
