Chevrolet, Kia and Jeep became winners of NACOTY awards

The North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year (NACOTY) awards witnessed its winners for 2020, at TCF Center in Detroit. The car of the year is the 2020 Chevy Corvette Stingray, the spot for Utility car of the year goes to the 2020 Kia Telluride, and 2020 Jeep Gladiator secures its place as Truck of the Year.

Final winners were announced after going through hundreds of hours test drives, research, and evaluation by independent jurors. The NACOTY awards hold their place amongst the most prestigious award categories in the industry, as its admin panel is chosen from 50 respected jurors via online, radio and broadcast media across the U.S. and Canada. 

The car of the year, Chevrolet Corvette drives on a turbocharged engine that generates a maximum power of 495 hp. The car secured the top spot due to its aerodynamic styling, luxurious interior and best in class performance with its key factor of one-third cost over major sports car in its segment. 

Jeep Gladiator secured its place as the Truck of the Year. with its USP of being a pickup truck with a soft-top removable roof and removable doors, the Gladiator increases its cargo-hauling capability by every means. Additionally, its ability to tow 10,000 pounds won the hearts of many. 

Lastly, the Utility Vehicle of the Year was awarded to Kia Telluride by competing with other three-row SUVs like the Hyundai Palisade and Lincoln Aviator. When asked about the reason behind its selection Executive Publisher at Cox Automotive commented, “The Telluride’s interior layout and design would meet luxury SUV standards, while its refined drivetrain, confident driving dynamics, and advanced technology maintain the premium experience.” 

About their journey so far, NACOTY President Lauren Fix commented, “These awards would not be possible without the hard work, professionalism and insight of all of our jurors along with the cooperation throughout the year from all of the automotive companies." He also added, “Now, in our 26th year, we are proud that both automakers and consumers recognize the value our awards provide to new car buyers.”
