Cadillac XT6

The interior of the Cadillac XT6 is quite plush and well-insulated. The basic seating layout inside the cabin is for seven occupants. However, the moment you opt for the second-row captain’s chair option, the maximum occupancy drops down to six. The is a child seat too, which, however, is missing if you choose the captain’s chair unit.

The dashboard has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The audio entertainment is taken care of by an 8-speaker set from Bose. The cabin is designed with loads of good trimmings and bits, like wood, carbon fiber, metal, and leather. There is also a wireless charging slot to get the hassle of wires.

The Cadillac XT6 is an amazing SUV to have for the good roads that the country has. It gets a lot of options on all fronts, including the wheel size and design. The additions are defined based on the Premium Luxury and Sport trims. All the trims get 18-inch wheels as a spare unit while 20 and 21-inch units are optional.

The body is extremely sculpted with sleek headlamps and a mesh grille. The Premium Luxury class gets chrome in abundance while the Sport trim gets a black treatment all around. The roof rails and the sharkfin antenna add a lot of feel to the SUV. The rear end is flanked by a roof spoiler, vertically placed taillights, and two rectangular exhaust pipes.

The Cadillac XT6 is not the most athletic SUV in the country, especially with the car on its maximum occupancy. The performance feels laggy to some extent, especially compared to other SUVs in the same price bracket. However, when it comes to being absolutely sane and responsible, it does pretty well, without a doubt.

The Cadillac XT6 has a very powerful engine under the hood. 3.6-liter V6 mill is capable of gushing out a maximum power of 310 horsepower, along with a peak torque of 368 Nm. This power is enough to add a lot of sportiness to the drive. The power is channeled to either the front wheels or all the wheels via a 9-speed automatic gearbox, which is quite smooth on the shifts.

The SUV offers a mileage of up to 18 mpg inside the city roads and up to 25 mpg on the open highways.

The Cadillac XT6 is uncompromised at all fronts, including the safety and braking parameters. Needless to say, there is anti-lock braking system on all the wheels, along with braking assistance. However, what would impress the buyers more is the fact that it gets automatic emergency braking as standard, while advanced adaptive cruise control is an optional fitment.

The cabin has a total of seven airbags given as standard. Apart from that, there are many other sensors in the form of electronic traction control, forward collision alert, following distance indicator, front pedestrian braking, parking assist both in the front and rear, lane change alert and rear cross-traffic alert.

The Cadillac XT6 is a pretty good SUV in the segment it belongs to and justified the price pretty well. It offers decent fuel efficiency and doesn’t feel underpowered 99% of the time. It does miss out on a couple of premium features and comfort levels that other similar cars have. However, the presence of bigger cargo space and a more refined engine would have done the job of taking it well over its competitors, without a hint of doubt.
