The new changes make the interiors look more appealing and friendly. Other than this, to keep up with the luxury, the cabin is furnished with high-grade materials like natural wood, carbon fiber, and premium leather. In terms of passenger space, Cadillac XT5 offers an agreeable headroom and legroom for both front and second row passengers. Also, the steering comes with tilt and telescopic function, which enables the driver to ser the position as per comfort. The front bucket seats further enhance the comfort and come with lumbar support.

However, despite being loaded with all the premium material and features, the cabin design is not focused as other rivals. In terms of standard features, you’ll get an 8-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, rotary controller, and improved Bose Premium 8-speaker sound system, and dual-zone climate control. The wireless charging is also standard for the mid and top-grade except for the base trim. 

Cadillac vehicles are known for their distinctive styling, and XT5 is no exception. It resembles a futuristic approach to its exterior appearance and marks a bold impression. The unique styling stands out XT5 from the competition, and the sharp lines over the body are honed to match with its design. While the jewel-like lighting empowers it with a style that no one in the segment has. The headlamps are both unique and purposeful. It comes with standard intelliBeam feature. Likewise, you’ll get standard cornering lamps to make it easier for you to take turns in the dark corners without any uncertainty. The base grade of XT5 gets the 18-inch six-spoke alloy wheels with Pearl Nickel finish, mid-grade comes with 18-inch Multi-Spoke alloy wheels with Bright Silver finish, and top trim gets the 20-inch 12-Spoke alloy wheels with Pearl Nickel finish. 

Each grade of XT5 is paired with the standard set of suspension. In the front wheels, you’ll get Macpherson strut and in the rear axle, you’ll get multi-link suspension. To further enhance the ride quality, Cadillac has also installed the StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System as standard among all the grades. With this configuration, Cadillac XT5 delivers optimum and enjoyable ride quality. Also, the real-time damping suspension is standard with the top grade and is available with the mid-grade. It adjusts the suspension every two milliseconds to keep the vehicle ride quality parallel with the road conditions. On the handling front, Cadillac XT5 offers firm handling. It instantly responds as per driver input and supports the ride quality while turning at sharp corners. 

Earlier the XT5 was standard with the 310 hp 3.6L Direct Injection V6 VVT Engine. However, this year, the V6 is standard with the Sport grade and is available with the Premium Luxury. While the lower variants come standard with the 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This newly introduced engine can produce a maximum power of 237 hp at 5000 rpm and torque of 258 lb-ft at 1500–4000 rpm. Whereas the 3.6L V6 engine can deliver the power of 310 hp at 6600 rpm and torque of 271 lb-ft at 5000 rpm. Both engines are mated with the 9-speed automatic transmission for smooth and effortless gearshifts. 

The braking power of XT5 is powered by the Four-wheel ventilated disc brakes linked with the ABS. This configuration is standard across the lineup and monitors the movement of the wheels and hinders them from freezing when you apply brakes. The standard active and passive safety features include 7 airbags, automatic emergency braking, electronic traction control, forward collision alert, forward and rear park assist, lane change assist with side blind zone alert, and lane-keep assist with lane departure warning. 

With the new changes and upgrades, Cadillac XT5 makes a powerful effort to expanse in the luxury compact crossover space. It remains a solid choice for the customers looking for a luxury vehicle. However, in the stiff competition, it’s let down by the impotent 2.0L turbo and 3.6L V6 engine, and both of them lack the power to match the game.
