A sport luxury sedan is probably the best way to define the 2019 Cadillac CTS. For driving enthusiasts, the 2019 Cadillac CTS might just be what the doctor ordered but even with its plethora of gadgetry, the sporty sedan does disappoint when it comes to its luxurious credentials. When it comes to finely-tuned high-performance engines, cabin space, and even the interior fit and finish, the 2019 CTS cannot help but disappoint critics. 

Cadillac’s approach to the interior design of CTS was motivated by a strong focus on driver comfort. There is extensive use of a wide range of pleasing materials across the cabin which include open wood, chrome plastic, perforated leather, faux suede, and gloss black trim. Although some of these materials seem quite attractive they cannot help but bestow a cluttered feel to the cabin. It is no surprise that Cadillac offers easy to read analog gauges (standard) and optional digital gauges in its driver-focused cabin. The optional digital information gauge cluster can be configured to relay a wide range of data based on the driver’s specification.

Cadillac offers its 8-inch touch-sensitive CUE hi-tech infotainment system in the 2019 CTS which can be accessed by easy to activate buttons and comes with intuitive menu layout. The infotainment system comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 4G-LTE powered onboard Wi-Fi audio streaming, Bluetooth phone connectivity, 3 USB ports, and real-time traffic and weather updates as standard. The only feature amiss amongst all this gadgetry is the navigation system which the American luxury car manufacturer does not offer as standard.

The 2019 Cadillac CTS is available in five trim levels with prices starting from $46,995 for the Standard, $52,695 for Luxury, $60,195 for Premium Luxury, $61,695 for V-Sport and $71,790 for V-Sport Premium Luxury variant. All trims share the same 8-speed automatic transmission but the Standard and Luxury variants are powered by a 2-liter turbocharged engine which produces 265 bhp of power and 295 lb-ft of torque. The V-Sport and V-Sport Premium Luxury trims are powered by 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 which produces 420 bhp of power and 430 lb-ft of torque. The Luxury trim is also available with the 3.6-liter v6 engine which is also offered in the premium luxury variant which produces 335 bhp of power and 285 lb-ft of torque.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety reports that the headlamps of the 2019 Cadillac CTS are unsatisfactory and performed marginally during a driver-side small overlap crash test. However, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration awarded CTS with a five-star crash test safety rating. Cadillac offers safety and driver assistance features like automated emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist as standard across all CTS variants.
