Shelby sells more F-150s than Mustangs, unable to keep up with the demand
Shelby outsells the Mustangs with its F-150s as per the latest article from Autoblog. Claims from Ford states that the customers are far more interested in high-riding models as indicated by their sales mix.
As per the article from Autoblog, Shelby spokesman Jonathan Marsh stated the blog about their sales figure of 300 Mustang-based models every year. Whereas, 750 F-Series trucks are produced each year where a large amount of the work is outsourced to a shop named Tuscany in Indiana. However, the firm doesn't release any official or precise annual production figures.
Additionally, the spokesman also confirmed a surge in demand for the Shelby F-Series trucks to the extent that production fails to keep up with the volume. The sales figure does not take into account for the cars sold and built-in overseas markets or the ones that Ford makes under license.
Previously, the F-150 Super Snake Sport unveiled as a concept vehicle at the 2019 SEMA show. The production F-150 Super Snake generates a total output of 525 hp via its V8 engine.
Shelby also announced the limited run of 250 units of the Super Snake Sport in the United States and Canada. The buyers of the car will get an option to configure it with a 770 hp V8 at an additional charge of $7,300.
Lastly, the automaker plans to grow its truck lineup in 2020 with the addition of the F-150 Super Snake Sport.
