The much-anticipated update for the outgoing Toyota highlander model will soon hit dealerships across America but the outgoing model with its wide range of variants still makes for an attractive offering. The 2019 Toyota Highlander comes equipped with the choice of either a 2.7-liter, 4-cylinder motor or a 3.5-liter V6 engine. The inline 4 motor manages to produce 185 bhp of power and 184 lb-ft of torque. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, however, the more expensive trims which feature the 3.5-liter V6 motor, get the power output bumped up to 295 bhp and churn out 263 lb-ft of torque. The V6 motor comes coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Along with the two IC engine setups, Toyota Highlander is also available in a hybrid variant that comes equipped with an electric motor that works in tandem with the traditional V6 engine to produce 306 BHP of combined power output.
