The 2019 Toyota Highlander comes equipped with the choice of either a 2.7-liter, 4-cylinder motor or a 3.5-liter V6 engine. The inline 4 motor manages to produce 185 bhp of power and 184 lb-ft of torque. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, however, the more expensive trims which feature the 3.5-liter V6 motor, get the power output bumped up to 295 bhp and churn out 263 lb-ft of torque. The V6 motor comes coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Along with the two IC engine setups, Toyota Highlander is also available in a hybrid variant that comes equipped with an electric motor that works in tandem with the traditional V6 engine to produce 306 BHP of combined power output. The Toyota Highlander has come to the market with a variety of new features up its sleeves in its 2019 version which includes a special edition of Nightshade that is available only on a limited basis and exterior upgrades across the model's lineup. In the meantime, Toyota has not altered the basic details of the vehicle such as its midsize, 8 seater capacity and abundant cargo space.
The SUV offers two engine choices with an added hybrid variant which uses an electric motor synchronous to the V6 to generate an overall power of 306 hp. The Highlander can seat up to 7 passengers in its 3 rows along with the driver. The first two rows are spacious enough leaving a lack of comfort in the last. The 2019 Toyota Highlander promises to offer sufficient comfort, safety, good power and mileage, user-friendly technology and controlled handling. But if you are looking for an adequately large cabin you might be a little disappointed with the Highlander's third row and overall cargo space design. Thus, although the Highlander deserves to be praised for its safety and reliability you might want to consider checking into some of its rivals as well.
