Ram outsells Chevrolet Silverado while GM strives to reach full production
During the first half of the year, Ram has come on top in sales over Chevrolet Silverado by 42,703 trucks. The event has occurred for the first time in a very long time. In the month of June, the full-size truck has increased its sales to a whopping 56 percent along with more than 68,000 vehicles being sold this year. However, General Motors is yet to reach full-production of Chevrolet Silverado. Therefore, the difference in sales might just be temporary.
The gap in sales has made quite an impact on the market primarily for two reasons. One of them is that Chevrolet generally holds the second spot when it comes to truck sales in the US. Furthermore, 2019 Ram is changing the preconceived notion of how a pickup truck should be like.
The pickup truck from General Motors has sold a total of 256,777 units so far in this year, whereas the sales figure of Ram stands at 299,480 units including the Ram 1500 classic along with all heavy-duty versions.
The primary reason behind this sales dip for Chevy is that dealers have only begun receiving Silverado HD (2500 and 3500) a couple of weeks ago. In addition to that, inventories are not going to reach a sizable number at least until fall. The interior design of the car has not improved from its previous version as well. Same can be stated for the engine. On the other hand, 2019 Ram has quite a few amazing features that have made it a widely favoured choice.
The super quiet pickup truck comes with independent suspension as well as optional air springs. A 12-inch infotainment screen, finely crafted interior and 48-volt mild hybrid system add to its benefits. Moreover, the vehicle has given a robust performance in terms of towing, pulling, pulverizing anything that comes in its path. None of the trucks, however, could beat Ford, which still holds the number one position in sales.
