General Motors delays Cadillac CT6-V over emission-related problems

The famous US-based automaker General Motors has delayed deliveries of it’s Cadillac CT6-V because of an unspecified issue in the emission system. But there is enough hope for those who had preordered the car as the reports suggest that the company has been able to rectify the problem and the customers might see their car arriving at their nearest dealership sometime soon. 

The Cadillac CT6-V Sport was announced on March 2018 and it was renamed as Cadillac CT6-V on Septembre, 2018. The car came under serious manufacturing concerns when General Motors announced a huge restructuring campaign in November last year. The future of Cadillac CT6-V was under serious doubt owing to such a rocky start by GM and the demise of the plant where the company made its luxury sedans. Despite the doubts, the company built 275 models of the car which were quickly booked during the ordering period starting from January 2019. Hence, the company had added $4000 to its price and increased its production. Because of the demand that the model generated, the company had said that they would not add up the extra money for the upcoming models. But now, concerns have popped out, since the manufacturers haven’t been able to deliver owing to some problems in the emission system. 

While talking to the media, Cadillac representative Stefan Cross said, “Earlier in the year, we informed customers who purchased the CT6-V that due to our commitment to quality and fine detail, their vehicle is taking a little longer than expected.” He then went on to add, “We followed up with these customers again recently, providing an update on the progress of their vehicle along with a token of our gratitude for their patience.”

The most exciting prospect of the Cadillac CT6-V is the powerful twin-turbo 4.2L V8 Blackwing engine. It is said to deliver 550 horsepower (410 kilowatts) and 627 pound-feet (850 Newton-meters) of torque. The power will be going back to the wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission. The other performance goodies for the car are magnetic ride-control suspension, Brembo brakes, and a limited-slip differential. 

The bookings for the 2020 model is open though there is no information for the amount of production that is to be done for the 2019 or 2020 model. The vehicle will be available for the US, but not in China. GM hasn’t announced the availability of the car for Canada, Mexico, the Middle East, and Europe in writing.
