Chevy's website experienced record traffic after revealing 2020 Corvette C8
Everybody was very hyped to have their first glance of the 2020 Corvette C8 before the reveal last month. After the endless spy shots and wild rumours, Corvette V8 made a blockbuster reveal in Tustin, California where it featured an updated layout and a shocking price of under $60,000. So, there's no doubt that interest in the mid-engine sports car received a plethora of traffic to Chevy's own website. A recent report from CNET's The Roadshow revealed that the C8 Corvette's grounding page on Chevrolet.com had experienced plenty of traffic, gaining 2.4 million visits by the end of July, and Chevrolet unveiled the 2020 Corvette just a few weeks ahead on July 18.
According to the report, more than one-third of the traffic came within the first three days of the reveal. On top of that, 1.3 million busybodies surfed the Corvette's page building over 940,000 different Corvettes while paying more than 152,000 hours fiddling with the visualizer. In addition to that, the live stream encountered a massive 471,000 viewers tuning in. The report also includes a few bits from Steve Majoros, Chevrolet's director of passenger car and crossover marketing on how people built their imaginative Corvette. Popular colours included the new Rapid Blue and Elkhart Lake Blue Metallic.
Ever since the reveal, the news cycle has been occupied by the Corvette, and the internet masses swallow every bit of information about the car. We know that hotter models are on the way, but the actual price of Corvette Stingray remains a mystery. Now, it's high time for the carmaker to transform the interest of the people into sales.
