Chevrolet unveils C8 Corvette’s interior ahead of its official revelation on July 18
No press release and no media gatherings but Chevrolet has officially flaunted interior view of its mid-engine C8 Corvette. The car, which is going to revealed completely soon has harvested a whole lot of questions and curiosity through its unconventional interior modules, particularly the steering wheel.
Negating a circular unit from of the scene, C8 Corvette has a hexagonal shaped steering wheel with highly smooth corners. Although a non-circular shape is nothing new, its applications are the main point of interest. Steering wheels of this shaped are usually deployed on vehicles having quick steering response. If this is so, C8 is likely to feature sharp and fast steering. The other notable part about the same is the availability of dual spokes instead of three. This allows a more hand room for the driver and concentrated region of control keys.
Further inspection of the photos reveals big and shiny paddle shifters mounted on the back. Also, it is still uncertain whether there will be manual transmission available for C8 or not. However, an automatic transmission will certainly make its way.
The steering wheel is well partitioned between control types. The right side of it probably houses all units needed for infotainment controls, while the left segment is for cruise management. One can see the presence of volume buttons on the bottom right along with navigational keys. Whereas, on the left are cruise control switches along with a chrome unit, whose purpose is yet to be known. No further details are available yet. More curtains will be removed on July 18 when the company will reveal all that we need.
