2020 Ford Ranger receives the RTR treatment

Raptor has now been a synonym to the off-roading machines offered by Ford and even the little Ranger was not exempted from it. With the advent of Raptor, there was a void left for the stubs who are fond of taking the middle road in most of the situations. Slide in the 2020 Ford Ranger RTR, a quarter-ton pickup with pretentious cosmetic upgrades and fewer performance tweaks.

We did stumble upon the Mustang RTR which was a 700hp convivial dream machine for many or as a matter of fact, the F-150 RTR which was in itself the Ozzy Osbourne of F-150s(because of the deeper exhaust note). This is not the case with Ranger as it lacks the real ammunition most of the RTRs are fitted with.

The absence of MagnaFlow freeflow exhaust and Ford Performance supercharger makes it more or less a stock truck. But instead of MagnaFlow, the all-new Ranger RTR is equipped with Ford Performance exhaust system which provides a much burlier exhaust note as compared to the stock exhaust system.

The real deal though is the addition of Fox 2.0. Ya’ll remember Fox? No? Well, these people are the reason the F-150 Raptor was able to tread anywhere and it Ken Block’s favorite truck. Though this Ranger is not fitted with them Racing Shox, it did receive the coil-over treatment.
What comes optional in this package is the LED light bar on the RTR grille and complementing this are the leather seats inside. Ranger RTR’s price is $9,800 over the stock truck and will be available as a package in selected dealerships.

As the Ranger Raptor is not available in the American market, the 2020 Ford Ranger RTR is the best kind of off-road treatment you can provide it with. But with Chevy’s Colorado zR2 Bison making rock-crawling a weekend thing, we suspect that the Ranger RTR is going to leave an impression in the market.
