2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 is sold out for 2020
Chevrolet brought out the all-new Corvette C8 earlier this year, and the “now” mid-engined sports car has been in much demand since then. So much so that the heavily revisited Corvette C8 is sold out for its first year. The US is supposed to receive around 40,00 units of the newly unveiled American sports car, and "the first year is sold out for 2020", said Barry Engle, President of GM for the Americas region.
Interestingly, the figure of 40,000 Corvette C8 doesn't indicate whether or not these sports cars will also include the convertible model along with the regular 2020 Corvette coupe. When asked, Chevrolet preferred to remain tight-lipped on the concern. While the automaker will start delivering the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette coupe to the customers by the spring of 2020, the convertible model, on the other hand, will start rolling out of the production facilities sometime later. Chevrolet claims that around half of the trades will feature the convertible trim of the iconic American sports car.
The first production unit of the Corvette C8 will be auctioned at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, in January 2020. And, the amount generated via the auction will be donated to the Detroit Children’s Fund that extends a helping hand to the city's underfunded public schools. We expect the auction price to go over $ 1 million without a fuss. The more the better, right?
Going back in time, the production of the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8, which was slated to kick off in late 2019 has been delayed to only begin by February 2020 because of a strike by the United Auto Workers. Nevertheless, it seems as if the strike hasn't affected Chevrolet much since the automaker did not pause taking orders and the orders books for the first year have already filled up as well.
