Honda’s all-purpose truck, the 2019 Ridgeline comes with some of the most ingenious and unconventional comfort features and gadgets we find in the segment today. For the 2019 model, Honda has equipped Ridgeline with some minor updates which include a second set of USB ports for the RT, Sport and RTL models. Also in 2019 variant, the RTL and RTL-T trims get power sunroof and power sliding rear windows which was earlier only offered in the top of the line variants. A commendable offering from the Japanese carmaker, the 2019 Ridgeline is as close to the quintessential crossover pickup as possible and offers a very comfortable cabin and impressive ride quality.

Stepping inside the cabin, Honda Ridgeline offers an interior which is one of the best in its segment and incorporates premium material quality throughout the cabin. Of all the mid-size pickups in the segment, the rear seat passengers will get the most space in the new Ridgeline. The RTL and other more expensive trims feature leather interiors and get a 10-way power-adjustable driver seat. These trims also get a 4-way power adjustable passenger seat which comes with a fold-down armrest which is also offered on the driver side. As an optional extra Honda offers an 8-inch HondaLink touchscreen infotainment system which gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard. Customer reviews have reported that the user interface on the infotainments system is not quite up to the mark but the optional in-bed audio system makes up for this shortcoming as the truck’s party piece. The standard infotainment unit comes in the form of a 5-inch non-touch display which gets Bluetooth connectivity.

Prices for the 2019 Honda Ridgeline start with the RT trim at $29,990 followed by those of the Sport trim at $33,390 and the RTL with prices starting from $34,870. The more expensive trim levels include the RTL-T, the RTL-E and lastly the Black Edition trims which feature price tags starting from $37,000, $41,920 and $43,420, respectively. Powering the truck is a single 3.5-liter 280 BHP V6 engine which produces 260 lb-ft of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The truck is also available with an all-wheel-drive system which is offered exclusively on the Sport, RTL, and RTL-T trims. The towing capacity of the 2019 Honda ridgeline can be e underwhelming as compared to the other V6 powered rivals in the segment. The front-wheel-drive model can tow up to 3500 lbs. whereas the all-wheel-drive models can tow a maximum of 5,000 lbs.

When it comes to safety, the 2019 Honda Ridgeline does not cut corners. The midsize pickup truck has earned a five-star crash test safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). What’s even more surprising is that the 2019 Ridgeline is the only pickup truck which has been named a top safety pick for 2018 by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The top of the line Black Edition and the more expensive RTL-E trim get additional driver assistance equipment as optional extras. Standard features like forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automated emergency braking, and the multi-angle backup camera is offered across all models.
