Audi Q5

The 2019 Audi Q5 exudes comfort whether it is in a traditional or a more futuristic manner. Q5 comes jam-packed with technology which gives it a competitive edge over other premium compact crossovers in the segment. The company’s new compact SUV is only offered with a 2-liter turbocharged unit but even with this powerplant, the Q5 is capable of giving other crossovers in the segment a run for their money. The 2019 Audi Q5 is not overly focused on performance like its sibling (Macan) from Porsche instead, the compact crossover strikes a delicate balance between refinement and understated performance.

For the 2019 Q5, Audi has made a range of features standard which includes aluminum trim around the windows, rear electric child locks, a seven-inch gauge cluster display, heated front seats, and Audi’s Connect CARE Telematics system. The upgrades are not just limited to the base model, as the mid-range variant also gets a wireless smartphone charging pad, rear-seat USB ports, and satellite navigation as standard. Audi now also offers the ‘Black Optics package’ as an optional add-on which comes with blacked-out exterior trim and 20-inch dark grey wheels.

The interior of the 2019 Audi Q5 is very contemporary and get an ergonomic layout and simple controls. Features like leather-wrapped power-adjustable front seats, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, tri-zone automatic climate control, and Audi’s Virtual Cockpit which can be customized to display navigation and other menus, now come as standard across the Q5 range. There is also an option for an 8.3-inch infotainment unit and both systems come with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and WiFi hotspot. The top-of-the-range Prestige trim comes with features like a 19 speaker Bang and Olufsen audio system, Audi's 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit display screen, heads up display, and navigation as standard, amongst other features.

The 2019 Audi Q5 is available in three terms which include Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. The base Premium trim features a $42,950 price tag whereas the top-of-the-line Prestige variant is priced at $53,850. All three trims are powered by the same 2-liter 4-cylinder unit which produces 248 BHP of power and 273 lb-ft of torque. The two-liter turbocharged powerplant comes mated to a 7 speed S Tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission with Audi’s trademark Quattro all-wheel-drive system with ultra technology. The 2019 Audi Q5 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under 5.9 seconds and the top speed of the compact crossover is electronically limited to 130 mph.

According to the EPA estimate, the 2019 Audi Q5 is capable of offering a combined fuel economy of 24 mpg. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has awarded the 2019 Audi Q5 with a 5-star safety rating. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has also called the 2019 Q5 its Top Safety Pick. Audi offers several driver assistance and safety features as standard in the 2019 Q5 which include automated emergency braking, forward collision warning, and adaptive cruise control. Audi also offers a wide range of driver assistance features as optional extras.
