Toyota releases the RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid SUV

Plug-In hybrids are leaving a trail in every segment of the automobile industry. From motorsports to commuting, hybrids have built themselves a nice hive in this industry. Toyota, one of the largest manufacturer of automobiles decided to bring something to make their presence felt.

RAV4 Prime

The 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime is now available as a plug-in hybrid too. The strongest and the most fuel-efficient RAV4, this shouldn’t surprise us. As most of the plug-in hybrids are easy to maintain.
Subtlety is best measured when you know how to derive an altogether different product from your past experiences, Toyota knows how. Just like the Prius, Prime is a much better number-cruncher. Producing a shattering 302hp of power, which was 219 horses with the previous RAV4 hybrid. The second quickest vehicle in Toyota’s lineup, this SUV reaches the 60mph mark barrier in 5.8 seconds.

RAV4 Prime

RAV4 provides a much better fuel economy, which comes around to 90mpg and 39 miles on just the electric power.
The best mile-cruncher in the PHEV market, the RAV4 Prime is equipped with a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine found in the RAV4 hybrid, making the same 176hp. What comes in as a surprise is the updated and strengthened lithium-ion battery pack which provides an extra 83hp than the RAV4 hybrid.

RAV4 Prime interior

As astonishing as it sounds, there is no deduction in trunk space as the batteries are under the floor. No cargo loss meant a 37.7 cubic inch of cargo inside the hatch.
The 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime will be in the market next year and will be available in SE and XSE trim options. The RAV4 Prime is much higher in terms of the price tag as compared to the RAV4 hybrid. The RAV4 hybrid is priced at $28,100 which is not expensive but considering the fact that the hybrid is more expensive to maintain, makes it a wobbly option.

Ayush is all things metal and rust with a mechanical engineering degree in his pocket. An avid motorcycle tourer and a metal musician with a deep love for Steppenwolf is what drove him towards the chopper culture and motorcycles. The remunerative opportunity of living close to the smell of petrol and to test the cream-layer of man-made road ships is what attracted him here.
