2021 Kia Sorento revealed ahead of Geneva debut

The 2021 Kia Sorento finally makes an appearance. Though it was expected to debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, the automaker did not make us wait for that long. The new car has been fully revealed via official images. And the best part is that everything about this new car has changed, including the platform and the styling, inside out.

2021 Kia Sorento rear

The new Kia Sorento is bolder than the outgoing model and that was evident even by the spy images that made its way at the beginning of the year. As claimed by the automaker, the new model has a longer hood and the “tiger-nose” design is an amazing blend with the LED headlights. The overhangs have been reduced at both ends. Moreover, there is a metallic strip added on the side, stretching from the front fenders to the door.

Even the rear profile is different than what we have in the outgoing model. There are vertically stacked split tail light clusters. A larger SORENTO moniker is embossed on the tailgate.

The cabin of the new 2021 Kia Sorento has taken a luxurious turn. Ambient lighting is one of the most attractive additions that are placed beside the door handle. The steering wheel is made in dual-tone colors and the seats are wrapped in rich leather upholstery. As for convenience and comfort, there is a dedicated button for climate control. The gear shifter gets a rotary dial, along with a smaller one for drive model selection. The front seats are heated and ventilated and can be controlled with the help of buttons on the center console.

The currently sold Kia Sorento in the USA market is available in two engine options. The base engine is a 2.4-liter, in-line, 4-cylinder mill that can churn out 185 horsepower. The higher trims get a bigger 3.3-liter V6 engine that makes 290 hp power at 6,400 RPM. As for the transmission, there is either a 6-speed or an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Public debut for the 2021 Kia Sorento will be underway on the 3rd of March at the Geneva Auto Show and sales will commence shortly after.
