2020 Nissan Rogue Sport given a price tag of $23,240

Also known as Qashqai, the Nissan Rogue Sport in its newest avatar has been launched. Sitting below its elder sibling, the Nissan Rogue, the Rogue Sport for its 2020 model gets a price tag that reads $23,240 for the entry-level S trim, and $29,800 for the range-topping SL AWD model. Note that the price mentioned is not inclusive of the destination charges of $1,095.

Prior to the launch, Nissan had already showcased the 2020 Rogue Sport at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show. The compact crossover in its refreshed avatar features revisited pairs of headlamps and taillights. To be precise, the new units resemble the ones that the European Nissan Qashqai wears. Another major update has come in the form of the addition of Nissan’s Safety Shield 360. The high-end safety suite comprises of a lane-departure warning system, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert, and front & rear automatic braking, and is standard across the range.

Unlike the changes made to the exterior and safety departments of the crossover, the powerhouse remains to be the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder mill that is equivalent to 141 horses. Both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive powertrains are on offer with a CVT routeing the power to the wheels. • Rogue Sport S AWD – $24,590

The 2020 edition of the Nissan Rogue Sport is $900 more than last year's model. But you get updated styling and the all-important Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 for a small hike, which we believe, is just fine. This makes the 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport a better car than what it was last year. Although the 2019 Nissan Altima's 2.5-litre motor with 188 hp of maximum power would have made driving the Rogue Sport all that more fun, right?
