Recent Updates of 370Z
The Nissan 370Z has been in production for around 11 years. But it has not improved much on its classic engine in the front-drive to the rear formula at that time. Not surprisingly interest in the car has dropped with the relaunch of classic competitors like the Mazda MX-5 and the Toyota Supra which are miles ahead of the Nissan. This is also the last year for the roadster version of the car. The 370Z comes in 4 different trims including a NISMO variant. Nissan also launched a 50th-anniversary edition last year. All of these are equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.7L V6 mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed automatic transmission. This engine produces 332 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. The NISMO produces a slightly higher output of 350 hp and 276 lb-ft. The NISMO also gets added high-performance bits and an aerodynamic body kit among other improvements. Prices start from $30090.

Nissan 370Z Review 2024
Abhishek Katariya says
Thrilling the roads since 1970, Nissan 370Z is now 50 years old. This year Nissan has launched the 50th Anniversary edition of 370Z, and the package includes unique two-tone exteriors, Alcantra wrapped steering wheel, 50th-Anniversary edition fashioned 19-inch alloy wheels, unique exterior graphics and 50th edition badging. Apart from this, there are no major upgrades in this year’s 370Z. It carries the same features and specifications inside and out as of the previous year model. As a result, 370Z looks a bit outdated in 2020, but being a sports coupe it is full of excitement and offers well-tuned handling and comfortable ride quality. The starting prices of this coupe begins from $30,090, and it’s available in five grades- 370Z, Sport, Sport Turing, 50th, and NISMO. All the variants are powered by the punchy 3.7 liters V6 engine and come with rear-wheel drive architecture. With the 50th Anniversary edition, Nissan is celebrating the legacy of 370Z, but as it lacks many active safety features that are even available in the lower-priced hatchback or sedan, it’s highly unlikely that buyers will still prefer it in 2020.

Nissan 370Z Interior & Features
The interior elements of 370Z haven’t been upgraded since the last decade, hence it not only looks a bit outdated but also uninteresting. However, the cabin space is enough for two passengers and the infotainment system is easy to use with friendly controls. Though, the base grade is let down by the absence of the touchscreen display and many features which include a navigation system, Bluetooth streaming, and voice recognition for audio controls. Whereas, the top grade NISMO comes with all the goodies including Bose premium sound system, infotainment system, leather, and faux suede Recaro sports seats, and a specially designed NISMO tachometer. But, being the top grade, NISMO doesn’t come with the heated seat functionality, despite the feature available in the Sport Touring and 50th edition variants.
370Z Exterior
With no significant changes to its design and dimensions in 2020, Nissan’s low budget sports coupe 370 remains the same. In the front, the boomerang inspired HID Xenon headlights captivates the eyes with the smoked looks and comes with standard automatic on/off function. While LED daytime running lights furnished on the sides of the front bumper enhance the visibility and stretches the appearance as well. Getting back to the rear fascia of 370Z, it resembles a bit traditional design but the LED taillights and dual exhaust tailpipes keep things in the right perspective. The NISMO grade gets some extra add-ons which include unique front and rear fascia, rear spoiler, and side sills.
Nissan 370Z Ride & Handling
All the variants of Nissan 370Z make use of double-wishbone aluminum alloy suspension and stabilizer bar in the front and multi-link aluminum alloy suspension with a stabilizer bar in the rear. Moreover, all the grades come with sports-tuned shock absorbers, except NISMO grade as it’s equipped with the NISMO tuned suspension which notches up the ride quality. In terms of handling, the short wheelbase makes handling likable and up to the bar of a coupe with refined controls.
370Z Engine & Fuel Consumption
Being a sports coupe, Nissan 370Z is not up to the standards of the class. Though as it’s priced much lower than its rivals, and offers a good engine performance along with balanced handling. These make it a likable rear-wheel-drive coupe, especially when it comes to performance. So, in terms of engine power, all the grades are powered by the same 3.7-liter V6 engine. And all the grades expect NISMO produces the maximum power of 332 hp at 7,000 rpm and torque of 270 lb. ft at 5,200 rpm. Whereas, NISMO comes with a bit notched up potential and produces an immense power of 350 hp at 7,400 rpm and torque of 276 lb. ft at 5,200 rpm. In terms of transmission, Nissan 370Z offers both manual and automatic as per the grade. And, the 6-speed manual transmission with rev-match technology is standard among all the grades except Sports Turing which comes mated with the 7-speed Continuously Variable Transmission. Moreover, the fuel-efficiency of Nissan 370Z is rated at 20 mpg combined for manual transmission while 22 mpg combined for automatic variants. And, as all the grades run on premium fuel, your every trip to the fuel station will cost a bit more than usual.
Nissan 370Z Braking & Safety
In terms of braking capacity, it varies from the base grade to the NISMO. And, the base grade Nissan 370Z is equipped with the 12.6-inch front and 12.1-inch rear vented discs brakes. While the rest of the grades are fitted with the Nissan sport brakes with 4-piston aluminum calipers and 14-inch front disc brakes, and the rear wheels come with the 2 piston aluminum calipers with 13.8-inch vented disc brakes. Furthermore, to make the braking capacity more perfect, Nissan 370Z makes use of the Anti-lock Braking System and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution. On the safety front, Nissan 370Z lacks many active safety features that you can get in $20,000 hatch or a sedan like blind-spot monitor, automatic emergency braking, collision warning system. Rather it comes equipped with only some passive safety features like active head restraints, six airbags-front, side, and head curtain.
370Z Verdict
Nissan 370Z is an iconic coupe. It’s your gateway to the world of the sports coupe and Nissan has kept it that way. But, the lack of active safety features makes it a bit spooky. Whereas, the decade-old exterior and interior design make it an unexciting sports car in 2020.
