Nissan Versa Note

The essence of the interior and cabin might be downgraded by the excessive use of plastics but Nissan Versa Note offers you the most spacious cabin in its class, along with the versatile cargo space of 18.8 cu ft. Moreover, to be specific, this hatchback allows you a great front headroom of 40.8 inches and rear legroom of 38.3 inches. Though, this year, Nissan Versa Note has received some upgrades like available Apple CarPlay, Android Auto on the tech front. But, in terms of cabin refinements, it's the same hatchback as of the previous year model. So, just like the 2018 Versa Note, this year’s Versa Note also fails to hinder engine noise from entering into the cabin, which eventually lowers the cabin comfort and user experience. The standard features include a 7-inch touch display, Bluetooth streaming, 4 speaker system, speed-sensitive volume control, and steering-wheel-mounted button controls.

Nissan Versa Note is available in 7 exciting colors, but among them, Deep Blue Pearl and Aspen White TriCoat are unavailable in the base grade S. In terms of the exterior design of the Vera Note, it resembles with Nissan’s Altima and Maxima. And, reflects the same V motion grille in the front that matches with the multi-reflector halogen headlights. Though, the design can be more aesthetic and appealing. However, some elements like sculpted doors and rear spoiler does make it look like a fun car. While the tall doors ensure easy in and out for both front and rear passengers. In terms of standard features, all the grades of Nissan Versa Note are equipped with the dual power outside mirrors, active grille shutter, aerodynamic taillights, and multi-reflector halogen headlights. Whereas, the top grade extends the personality of Versa Note with eye-catching sport side sills, rear roof spoiler, fog lights, and outside mirrors with LED turn indicators. 

Nissan Versa Note lacks thrill but offers good right quality and balanced handling. In the front, the independent strut suspension comes with the stabilizer bar and performs well while balancing the vehicle when you oversteer it. While to match the same comfort for the second-row passengers, Nissan Versa Note comes equipped with the rear-axle torsion beam integrated with the stabilizer bar. So, in general, the ride quality of this hatchback is satisfying, but while turning corners the speed-sensitive electric power steering doesn’t perform well. Though, when in city conditions, it feels light and makes it easy for you to zip through traffic. 

Under the hood, the 1.6-liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine is standard among all the grades. It’s matched with the next-gen Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission system to ensure the swift gear shifts and smooth acceleration while ensuring the good fuel economy of 39 MPG on highways. Furthermore, the 1.6L engine can produce a maximum power of 109 hp at 6,000 rpm and torque of 107 lb-ft at 4,400 rpm. These numbers are appreciable, though the engine isn’t well refined and produces extensive noise when you press the gas pedal for instant acceleration. 

Like the exterior and interior features, on the safety front, Nissan has kept a lot of features standard among all the grades of Versa Note. In terms of braking capacity, the front wheels are decked with the ventilated disc brakes while the rear wheels come with drum brakes. To enhance the braking capacity, Versa Note gets the standard Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, and Brake Assist system. Furthermore, in terms of passive safety features, this hatchback offers plenty of airbags for the front passenger, driver, and roof-mounted full-length curtain airbags. While active safety features include Vehicle Dynamics Control and Traction Control System, which prevent the vehicle from slipping by regulating the acceleration of the front wheels and applying brakes to the needed ones. 

Nissan Versa Note is a carryover model, this year it has earned only Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality while remaining the same inside and out. However, its spacious cabin is surely exceptional and comfortable but is grounded by the bad quality plastic. But, apart from this, this Nissan Versa Note offers a good ride quality and satisfying mileage that makes it value for money hatchback.
