Jeep Renegade

The new 2019 Jeep Renegade is here. This year, Jeep has advanced this compact SUV with numerous changes to its engine performance, interiors and as well as exteriors. 

Now, the front-facia of Renegade displays a fresh outlook enhanced by a detailed set of grills and updated headlamps. Along with this, some major exterior changes count as new LED exterior lighting, dual pane panoramic power sunroof, and 19-inch wheels. 

Jeep has also introduced a new 1.3 L multi-air turbo direct-injection engine with active grille shutters that delivers 177 hp and 210 lb-ft of torque. It is standard in top three variants and optional on the rest of the variants except Upland which comes with the standard 2.4L I4 Zero Evap M-Air engine. 

Renegade is available in 7 variants Sport, Upland, Latitude, Altitude, TrailHawk, Limited, High Altitude. They can be equipped with either an FWD system or AWD system. The FWD Renegade prices start from $22,275-$28,640 whereas AWD prices start from $23,775-$30,140. 

Among all the variants, the wheel size is available from 16-19 inch, and the newly introduced 19-inch granite painted aluminium wheelset comes standard with the top-trim High Altitude. Whereas 19-inch polished and painted granite aluminium wheels are optional on the Limited variant. 

To keep up with the various road and off-road situations, Renegade comes with the select train system, that is standard among all the variants but comes with "Rock mode" in only TrailHawk. 

To assist drivers in a new way, there’s a parallel and perpendicular park and unpark assist system. So that you can manoeuvre in and out of parking spaces without putting your hand on steering. 

This car offers more than 70 safety and security features like high beam assist control, hill descent control, hill start assist, 7 standard airbags, adaptive cruise control to optimize the safe distance with the vehicle moving in front of you. Plus, its body adds an extra layer of safety as it is made up of 70 per cent advanced high strength steel, that is engineered to push crash-energy away from the cabin. 

The new Renegade comes with two engine types, the newly inducted 1.3L turbo and 2.4-litre TIGERSHARK multi air I-4 that delivers quiet and refined performance, and produces 180 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque. Along with this, a 9-speed automatic transmission is standard among all the variants.

With such power-packed engine, you get maximum cargo space of 50.8 cubic feet with rear seats folded. It can tow objects of up to 2000 lb. Furthermore, with new trailer sway control system that comes with electronic stability control, you don’t have to keep an eye on the back as this system maintains and helps in keeping the towed object in control and on the course of the road. 

Renegade is a perfect choice for in city and off-city rides, as it replicates the appearance of a city vehicle and power of off-road trucks. 

Especially for off-road trips, you will feel more control over the vehicle with tuned up steering wheel and raised suspension. Jeep has also improved the fuel efficiency of Renegade and now it delivers the mileage of up to 32 MPG on highways.
