Subaru brings tS name back with 2020 BRZ tS
After a gap of almost a year, the Subaru BRZ tS comes back to the United States for the year 2020 and is only limited to 300 units. The prices start at US$28,845, and the STI-tuned version of the coupe receives a price tag of $32,395 (including a destination fee of $900). There’s no change in the powertrain, and it still incorporates the FA20 2.0-litre flat-four engine under the bonnet, which can be paired with either manual transmission or a six-speed automatic. This manual is capable of churning out a maximum power of 205 hp and a peak torque of 212 Nm, while the automatic produces maximum power and torque of 200 hp and 205 Nm respectively.
The STI-tuned BRZ tS comes with numerous upgrades such as a flexible V-brace in the engine compartment and Sachs dampers. It also gets stiffeners attached to the subframe and chassis, which help to enhance steering response. Brembo brake system with two-piston rear calipers and four-piston front calipers takes care of the braking duties.
Moving to the exterior, the car is finished in an elite Ceramic White paint with Cherry Blossom Red accents. It also features a set of 18-inch wheels in matte bronze. The wheels are covered with 215/40 Michelin Pilot Sport tyres. If compared to the 2018 model, the low-profile rear spoiler is a bit smaller. The front grille and rear decklid get a BRZ tS badge in chrome and red. It flaunts a black fog light insert covers, and the black treatments continue to shark fin antenna and side mirrors.
Getting inside the car, one would find Alcantara upholstery and black leather with contrast stitching on the door and dash panels, steering wheel, gear shifter, knee pads and cowl over the gauge cluster. All the trims feature dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, and start, LED headlamps, a Subaru StarLink seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a reverse camera.
