Limited Shelby Signature Series Mustang gets 65hp boost in power
The performance-oriented Shelby Mustang just got better, albeit in limited numbers. Here is the Shelby Signature Series Mustang, a limited edition muscle car for the North American market. This combination of beauty and brawn will have a lifetime run of just 50 units.
The Mustang Shelby GT500 that was launched last year was claimed to be the most powerful Ford ever. The supercharged 5.2-liter, V8 engine could make a whopping 760 hp, along with a peak torque of 847 Nm. However, this Shelby Signature Series Mustang has taken the notch higher by 65 horsepower extra, taking the total to 825 hp. This has been enabled with the addition of a Whipple supercharger.
Along with the higher power production, there are other upgrades in this special edition. The muscle car rides on 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels in either polished or black layer. The suspension system is sourced from Ford Performance MagneRide for added stability. The aluminum front fenders have extractors. There is also a rear diffuser spoiler and a tail panel. The windows are finished with deep-tinted glass to complete the overall exterior package.
Other updates on the technical side include the addition of a transmission cooler, exhaust system sourced from Borla and Brembo brakes. The front brake has a 6-piston caliper, while the rear makes use of a 4-piston unit. The hood is much more functional now and helps to reduce hot air around the supercharger system. The design of the front fascia is optimized to increase ventilation and keep the engine bay temperature in check. The paint stripes on the front hood are optional and aren’t offered as standard.
Inside the cabin, the seats are wrapped in unique leather and suede. The seat covers are designed with a snake-skin pattern to make them look very attractive right from the onset. Plus, this limited-edition model also gets door sill plates, CSM badging, and floor mats.
This Shelby Signature Series Mustang has been set at an asking price of USD 127,795. All of the 50 units will go down in the official Shelby Registry.
