Hennessey Performance to build faster C8 Corvette

Hennessey Performance from America has announced that they will be making the C8 Corvette faster than ever before. Earlier this year, the bowtie brand, Chevy unveiled the all-new C8 Corvette that will be a mid-engine two-door much like the Acura NSX and the Ford GT.

The Texas-based tuning company is already set to make things bigger. It will be fitting the C8 Corvette with a twin-turbo system with a custom-built LT2 V8 that will churn out a max power of 1217 PS. Additionally, they will be blessing it with forged aluminum pistons, forged steel connecting rods for the upgraded V8 and a stainless steel exhaust for better exhaust note and extra power.

Moreover, Hennessey Performance will build a supercharger kit for the C8 that will be good for producing 710 PS. The upgrades will be made available once the new C8 engine platform’s computer tuning becomes available. Not just this, Hennessey will be offering a carbon fiber aero kit consisting of a front splitter, rear carbon fiber wing and an air dam.

An adjustable Penske suspension system, full Brembo braking setup, and uprates tires and wheels will also be available for the new C8 Corvette. The president and founder of Hennessey Performance, John Hennessey said, “We are very excited about the new C8 Corvette and have big plans for it. From mild to wild, we plan to offer a wide variety of track-tested parts and upgrades that come with a warranty. We’ve modified over 500 C7 Corvettes since 2013 and expect to upgrade many more C8 Corvettes starting in 2020.”

The Chevy C8 Corvette, on the other hand, features a 6.2-liter V8 engine that puts out a max power of 500 PS and a peak torque of more than 635 Nm. According to the brand, it is lighter and more rigid than the previous iteration. Plus, it is cosmetically-advanced from the outside as well as inside. Also, there are no plans of introducing a Z06 or a ZR1 version of the C8 as yet as far as Chevy is concerned.

With time, we can see more tuning houses to release their versions of the upgraded C8. This should also force Chevrolet to release the more powerful Z06 or ZR1 versions of the car quicker than expected.
