2021 Ford Bronco might get Rivian R1S based electric version
The 2021 Ford Bronco is still far away from getting official and all we have now are leaked images that surfaced a couple of days back. Despite the fact that the American automaker has not confirmed an electric version of the Bronco, it will be safe to assume that either this one or any other big SUV will get the zero-emission treatment.
There is a strong reason to believe that the Ford Bronco will get an electrified version. To put things in perspective, it is the Bronco that looks quite similar to the Rivian R1S, especially the styling and the character lines, which tells us why it has higher chances of seeing the electric version. And needless to say, Ford has already confirmed that the R1S will lay the groundwork of the Lincoln electric SUV.
So, it is safe to say that the specifications of the Ford Rivian R1S will render the specifications to the electric cars following its trend. The R1S will be a 5- or a 7-seater SUV that would be available in either SUV or pickup body type. It will be offered with three different battery options - 105 kWh, 135 kWh and 180 kWh. The smallest battery will offer a driving range of up to 286 kilometers while the biggest pack will do up to 660 kilometers.
The Rivian R1S SUV will boast a top speed of 200 kmph. The top model can hit the 0-97 kmph speed in 3.2 seconds while the base variant can do so in 4.9 seconds. Once brought to the streets, it will be a very tough contender to the likes of the Tesla Cybertruck and the Tesla Model X.
The 2021 Ford Bronco is expected to revealed officially by the spring, this year.
