2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon special edition leaked
A new special edition of the Jeep's iconic Wrangler has been leaked ahead of its official reveal on the JL Wrangler Forums. This particular version of the rugged model, Rubicon Recon, was not officially acknowledged by the automaker. Still, the leak has provided the fan base with all the necessary details.
The Rubicon Recon edition is said to feature additional equipment without much of the extra burden on the pocket. The updated variant shall only be offered over the top-end Rubicon trim.
Visually, one can notice multiple upgrades which include hood decal in black and red, LED lights, wheels with a black finish and Recon fender hard batch. Other inclusions are Moab rock rails, front and rear steel bumpers, bumper hoop, gloss black grille body, body-color surrounds and headlamp inserts.
The 2020 Rubicon Recon will drop the standard 3.6-litre V6 for Jeep's turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-four engine with an optional eight-speed automatic transmission. The new engine will produce a maximum power of 260 hp and peak torque of up to 600 Nm.
Inside, the vehicle features PUR-wrapped mid-bolsters for the seats with red seat belts and red stitchings. The new trim of the Jeep Wrangler configurator would cost the users $2755 above the standard price of Rubicon. However, if we calculate the cost of additional features being provided, the listed equipment would stand above $5,000.
Although there’s no word available on the official launch date, it might be safe to assume that the Recon shall hit the showrooms by late 2020.
