2020 BMW X3 plug-in hybrid price revealed
BMW is all set to launch the X3 plug-in hybrid, called the X3 xDrive30e. The automaker’s upcoming offering comes equipped with an electronically-controlled xDrive chassis featuring the latest BMW plug-in hybrid technology.
The hybrid X3 features low CO2 footprints and is powered by the SAV, which utilizes a high-voltage, lithium-ion battery for its functioning. The battery is mounted beneath the rear seats, while the fuel tank is mounted above the rear axle. X3 features different forms of driving mode, including a zero-emission mode that enables the user to cover distances of up to 20 miles over the battery, when fully charged.
The car comes equipped with a PHEV powertrain, consisting of a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and a 12-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack. The engine produces a maximum power of 184 hp while the battery motor generates a total speed of around 107 hp; together, the hybrid crossover makes a maximum power of 292 horsepower (217 kilowatts) and peak torque of up to 420 Nm.
The engine comes mated with 8-speed Steptronic transmission, and the car covers the speed of 0 to 100 km per hour in 6.1 seconds, at a top speed of 210 km per hour. Users can quickly charge their vehicles using conventional household sockets with the standard charging cable, over 6 hours. However, plugging the car into the company’s Wallbox cuts down the charging time to around three and a half hours.
BMW X3 xDrive30e is said to be offered in four trim levels named Advantage, xLine, Luxury and M Sport. The plug-in hybrid premium compact SUV comes at a price tag, beginning at USD 33,215, including the destination & handling charges, as per reports from Cars Direct. That base price positions the X3 xDrive30e at $3,085 USD more than the regular X3 xDrive30i ($30,133 USD).
However, the automaker has not yet revealed the other features of its upcoming offering. BMW plans to publish full details of BMW X3 hybrid in the first quarter this year.
