2020 Audi Q3 Sportback debuts; USA sales likely to begin next year
Audi has yet another addition to its crossover lineup, the 2020 Q3 Sportback, which is basically a coupe-like trim of the standard Q3. However, describing the coaster merely as a ‘coupe-like’ variant would be sheer injustice to it. There is a lot more to talk about, which include a refreshed look that makes the outfit to look sportier.
The looks have been revamped completely without any changes in the platform. It starts with the sloped roof, which is hooked up a bit lower than that of the standard model. Also lowered is the shoulder line that impinges through the door handles. We get to see a number of strikes on the wheel arches, which give the car an aggressive look. All these contribute to the sportier outlook of the nameplate and brings a more sculpted appearance.
The rear of the car also receives a fair bit of tweaks. Not noticeable but the Q3 Sportback is now longer and shorter than the standard model. To be specific, the length has been increased by 0.6 inches, while the height has been shortened by 1.1 inches. The rear is bold and the animation in the taillight units enhances the overall look.
Under the hood, the 2020 Q3 Sportback equips Audi’s most powerful turbocharged 2.0-liter mill, which can deliver a maximum power of 226 hp (2 units less than the standard Q3). There are also two other 2.0-liter engines outputting 147 hp and 187 hp of maximum power. The transmission duties in all the powertrains are fulfilled by the Audi’s seven-speed S Tronic dual-clutch gearbox.
As far as the availability is concerned, the European markets are going to get the coaster in November this year. Whereas, the U.S market may get it in 2020.
