Volkswagen brings new teaser video for Nivus crossover
The launch of the Volkswagen Nivus is imminent sooner, but we don’t have to wait for that long to get the details as the automaker is revealing details of the same. The latest teaser that came from Volkswagen Brazil was in the form of a video that revealed quite a lot of detail, both exterior and cabin.
The teaser video starts with showing off the logo at the rear (apparently), which crowns the new VW logo. The video then hovers over to the cabin to give a glimpse of the touchscreen infotainment system that gets a whole lot of capacitive buttons on the sides. The system gets connectivity features, like smartphone connector, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The 3-spoke steering wheel has the new logo as well and has multiple buttons for a handsfree experience.
This new crossover clings to the design language of the German automaker. It has its footprints taken from the Polo but gets a lot of styling elements from the T-Cross. However, the extended rear hood and the roofline makes it look sleeker than the counterpart.
We already know of the mechanical specifications from Volkswagen South America. The VW Nivus will be powered by a 1.0-liter TSI petrol engine. The power production is different based on the transmission. The 6-speed manual transmission trim produces a maximum power of 114 hp, while the automatic gearbox option makes 126 hp of power.
The Volkswagen Nivus will be produced and sold locally in Brazil and will later debut in Europe in 2021. However, it is still unclear whether it will be launched in the United States or not.
