Tesla Model S and Model X get higher driving ranges by up to 37 kilometers

Given the fact that electric vehicles are right on track to be mainstream now, driving range will play a huge factor. Recognizing the same, Tesla has announced good news here. It is official that the Model X and Model S will get the higher estimated EPA range. The Model S can now close down to 390 miles, while the Model X can go up to 351 miles.

Tesla has been very active with its zero-emission cars and both the Model S and Model X have received quite a lot of hardware updates over the span of the last few months. This enables the cars to be more efficient on the driving range. And now, all there is required to be done is to release a software update to unlock the features.

The Tesla Model X will now have a long range of 351 miles (565 kilometers). This is 7%, or 23 miles (37 kilometers) higher than the previous figure. However, as per the website, there have been no changes in the Performance version. It still has a range of 305 miles (491 kilometers) with smaller 20-inch tires and 272 miles (438 kilometers) with bigger 22-inch tires.

Even the Tesla Model S follows the same suit. The updated 390 miles (628 kilometers) is a raise by 4.6% (17 miles or 27 kilometers) over the previous 373 miles. The Performance version, however, has not seen any changes.

The Tesla Model S is one of the top models from the electric automaker. It has a performance-based electric motor that can accelerate from a standstill to 60 mph (0-97 kmph) in just 2.4 seconds. It is built with high impact protection on the front and sides, along with a low risk of roll-over.

Torque distribution is amazing in the car, thanks to the two-motor setup and all-wheel-drive mechanism. It can go up to a top speed of 163 miles (262 kilometers).
