Say hello to 2021 Mercedes GLE Coupe, AMG GLE 53

From the last few months, Mercedes is gradually disclosing the looks of much-awaited models from GLE Class, and now the big day is about to arrive when the automaker will flaunt the models in a full-fledged manner. Frankfurt Motor show will finally unveil the all-new 2021 Mercedes GLE Coupe and AMG GLE 53. Both versions will be launched but the US buyers will get one of the siblings in person i.e. AMG version, that will be available along with the previous generation fastback GLE from spring 2020.

The new AMG GLE 53 variant symbolizes the formula of standard GLE SUV. In the upfront, there is a massive and angry AMG Panamericana grille that all AMG cars have nowadays. Side skirts and a subtle trunk spoiler add a bit more aggression to the base AMG model. The similarities with the earlier GLE include the hood, lower bumper design, headlights, and taillights. For off-roading drive, Trail and Sand modes are added to the variant along with Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, and Individual. The wheelbase is two inches shorter, and 15.75-inch brake rotors with dual-piston calipers at the front assist in bringing the vehicle to stop.

On the power front, it makes use of the same 3.0-litre turbocharged I6 mill churning 429 hp of power and 520 Nm of torque as current GLE 53 SUV. Though it has a mild hybrid setup, in which the EQ boost starter generator is responsible for delivering 21 hp of power and 249 Nm of torque for shorter periods. It has 4WD with shifting duties handled by a 9-speed automatic transmission. While comparing with the current Mercedes-AMG GLE 43 and its 385 hp power generation, it is noted that the GLE 53 is backed with high performance. Moreover, the new GLE 53 gains the full Mercedes digital makeover inside, including the latest MBUX infotainment setup with AMG-specific displays.

The main highlights of Mercedes GLE Coupe include a new six-cylinder inline diesel engine, coupe-specific elegance and sportiness on the exterior, improved aerodynamics and the E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL suspension with 48 V which meet the highest demands on driving dynamics and ride comfort on and off the road.

The AMG GLE 53 will go on sale in the US from mid-2020 and nothing has been disclosed about its pricing
