Two More Crossovers from Volkswagen in the United States

Two More Crossovers from Volkswagen in the United States

A couple of days ago, the new Atlas Sport was unveiled by Volkswagen America. Before this, its prototype was showcased at the New York Show in March 2018, and then at Auto Shanghai in April 2019 as the Teramont X concept. It is a five-seater version of the standard Atlas. But this is not all, as the automaker is planning to come up with two more crossovers in the state soon.

During a recent interview, Scott Keogh, CEO of Volkswagen Group of America stated that both the crossovers will be smaller than the Tiguan. Though he did not speak much about the upcoming vehicles but clarified the fact that one will be an entry-level model and another will be one step ahead.

Keogh also mentioned that the firm is very hopeful for its smaller crossover offering and sees a great opportunity in the segment. Even if the industry is facing a global slow-down, the craze of crossover and SUV does not seem to be falling.

The current sales chart of the company shows the success of SUVs and Crossovers in the state. The segment accounts for 52 percent of sales numbers in the year so far, which is very high as compared to three years ago 14%. In light of these statistics, the firm expects a definite increase in sales if two more models are added.

If we look at the Volkswagen global portfolio, the crossovers smaller than Tiguan are T-Cross and T-Roc which are not offered in the state. So it can be said that these two would be coming to America or maybe completely new models are on the list. Whatever be the case, the U.S. customers would love to have more from VW. So stay tuned to Zigwheels US to know more about the exact models, their arrival dates, prices, and specs.
