New Hyundai Elantra to premiere on March 17
The Hyundai Elantra was due for a new model and we knew it was coming soon, thanks to the number of testing prototypes we could catch. Moreover, even a near production-ready model was even sighted recently, albeit in its covers. But we need not speculate anymore as the automaker has announced that the new sedan is on its way, and it will debut on March 17.
Going by the teasers that Hyundai has dropped, the new Elantra looks a lot different than we have seen so far. The automaker itself calls this new version of the sedan a coupe with a sweeping roofline and some dramatic bodywork. The creases are very sharp, especially on the doors.
The teaser video, via which Hyundai revealed confirmed the debut, also shows off the front grille, which adapts the new angular nature of the coupe-sedan, but is bigger than before. The rear gets a sharp appearance too and the thin strip of LED joining the two tail lights is very eye-catchy.
Hyundai has not revealed a lot about the cabin in this teaser video. As much as we could see, the cabin has a very minimalistic approach. The large touchscreen infotainment system does not seem to stand out but blends perfectly on the dashboard. The steering wheel also adopts a new design and leaves behind the 3-spoke type. However, all of this might be a bit different when the car debuts formally.
The debut event of the new Hyundai Elantra will be hosted live on the company’s official website (www.hyundai.com/worldwide). The event is to be held at The Lot Studios in West Hollywood at 7:00 PM PST (Pacific Standard Time). It is also expected to hit the dealerships by September 2020.
