Kia Futuron Concept is a UFO inspired automobile
Setting the stage on fire at the 2019 China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai is the Kia Futuron Concept. The concept is a coupe-like SUV with a two-door body structure and will be up for viewing till the 10th of November 2019. Moreover, the title "Futuron" is made up of two different words "future" and "on", and gives us a glimpse of what Kia holds for us in store for the near future.
Just as one would expect, the Kia Futuron is an all-electric sporty SUV. The coupe-like SUV stands at 4850 mm long and sports a rather large 3000 mm wheelbase. Interestingly, the SUV is super sleek thanks to the height of just 1550 mm.
The South Korean automaker's signature "tiger-nose" also makes its way to the Futuron, albeit in a wider form that enables it to extend till the tip of the headlamps. Also, the trademark "tiger-nose" grille on the Kia Futuron is an illuminated unit. As a whole, the Futuron takes the shape of a diamond and flaunts a UFO and flying saucer inspired panoramic glasshouse.
There are also the LIDAR sensors, which provide the SUV with Level 4 autonomous driving capabilities. On the inside, the cabin is just as futuristic as the exterior and vaunts reclining front seats.
Since the SUV has Level 4 autonomous driving functionality, the steering wheel retracts and the reclining front seats recline the autonomous driving mechanism is initiated. The Kia Futuron looks like a very nice and ambitious prospect, but it will be too early and greedy of us to expect the automaker to bring out a production model shortly. The best thing to do would be to patiently wait for Kia to improve the tech and then launch the astonishing SUV in its final avatar.
