Honda reveals updated 2020 Civic hatch in the US
Honda has solved one of the few criticisms with its 2020 update for the Civic hatchback lineup. While the sparsely provided Sport variant used to be the only variant prepared with the excellent six-speed manual transmission, the Civic hatchback's completely loaded Sport Touring trim is now offered with the same transmission. The Sport trim itself also receives added standard equipment for 2020 to move along with few styling upgrades that the 2020 Civic hatch now accords with the newly restored sedan and coupe models.
Fresh standard features for the Civic Sport hatchback incorporate a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a proximity-key system. The previous Civic had a small, non-touchscreen display with fewer connectivity options. A power driver's seat is standard on the EX hatch. There are additional physical buttons to change the fan speed on variants fitted with a dual-zone climate control unit.
The front-end styling changes incorporate a different grille and bumper along with distinct headlight trim, and the rear bumper is designed. The wheel designs are fresh. Inside the cabin, few trim levels get bizarre trim patterns, and every variant feature added sound deadening that should keep the cabin quiet. Moreover, it gets an indicator light for the switch of the electronic parking brake.
Moving to the pricing, 2020 Civic hatch starts from $22,580 for the base LX trim, and other trim levels increase by $100 to $500. The new Sport Touring model with manual transmission starts at $28,980. The 2020 Civic hatch will hit the dealerships from August 16.
