Ford reportedly planning to make Bronco pickup truck

Reports are surfacing that suggests that Ford is likely working on Bronco’s revival along with additional trim. The nameplate will not only be limited to SUV as there are chances of introduction of a pickup variant as well. The Bronco SUV will be based on Ranger, which in turn, is based on identically sized.

Speculations are also being made that the car will arrive no before than 2024. This highlights the fact that the vehicle (if it is) is still in its development phase. Ford, however, refrained itself from participating in any discussion or giving any comment regarding the same. The Bronco SUV will take the likes of Wrangler, while the pickup unit will compete with Jeep Gladiator.

Back in 1996, the Bronco had been withdrawn from the company’s light-truck model lineup. For the next model year, it was replaced with the Expedition. However, the nameplate is scheduled for revival in 2020 after an almost 25 years halt. As mentioned earlier, the new chassis will have underpinnings of For Ranger instead for the F-series. This will make the sixth-generation Bronco, a mid-size SUV for the first time. As for the pickup trim, it will get more off-road abilities, be more aggressive, and will be more expensive than the Ranger.

Furthermore, the Bronco pickup would likely come up with a four-door body outlay and will feature a small bed at the back. Just like the standard Bronco, the speculated pickup variant may also haul over the removable roof panels. As on the question of availability, the Bronco SUV will be rocking the markets by the middle of 2020, while the Bronco pickup, if made, may launch in 2024.
