2021 VW Nivus teased again, image revealed at Annual Media Conference
We reported just yesterday about a new teaser image for the Volkswagen Nivus. The German automaker is going full-throttle to capitalize on the market demand for crossovers, and also with teasing the new crossover hard and fast. The automaker has, at the Annual Media Conference, revealed an image of this “New Urban Coupe”.
Going by the teaser video we discussed yesterday and the image we see now, the upcoming Volkswagen Nivus will be inspired heavily by the T-Cross. However, the coupe-like roofline adds a very sleek touch to the side profile. The roof rails are very prominent. The front grille gets chrome embellishment on the single slit that joins the headlamps on the two sides.
Based on the announcements made by Volkswagen South America previously, the locally available Nivus will be available in a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder engine guise that produces a maximum power of 114 hp. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual. The engine will also be available with a turbocharger and a DSG gearbox, unlocking a total power production of 126 hp. A front-wheel-drive mechanism will be standard.
The Volkswagen Nivus seems to be slated to debut in South America soon, followed by Europe. It is scheduled to be revealed in the continent down south by this spring.
