2020 Volkswagen Golf GTI prices revealed, increased by $1,025

Volkswagen released the pricing of its eighth-gen Golf GTI marked with a hike of $1,025 for the US customers. Even though the price seems a bit high, but the customers can take the benefit of some advanced features like automatic emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring as standard-issue gear.

If we go by the early order guide of the model which shows the base trim GTI priced at $29,515, it means $1,025 higher than the previous one. The price hike also includes a $25 higher destination charge. If you choose to buy a dual-clutch automatic then you need to pay $30,315 i.e. an extra amount of $725.

While the price tag of SE trim starts at $33,115 for the manual and $33,915 for the DSG which means increased by $425 and $125, respectively. Here we can observe that the firm has narrowed the price difference between manual and DSG variants, which is quite interesting.

The optional Autobahn Package costs around $4,300 for the SE trim and concludes the price at $38,215. The package brings the following additional features:

• Adaptive cruise control
• Adaptive chassis control
• 12-way power seats
• Fender audio system
• Dual-zone climate control

But if we see the 2020 Tiguan price, the additional cost completely justifies the additional benefits of automatic emergency braking and a blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. 

Apart from this, the firm has reduced the GTI's warranty for 2020 from 6 years or 72,000 miles to just 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. Though it offers a free maintenance benefit for 2 years now.
