2020 Audi RS5 Coupe & Sportback have arrived with mild updates

Audi revealed the 2020 A5 and S5 back in September, earlier this year, and the event was followed by numerous spy shots of the updated RS5 Coupe and Sportback models. Now, putting an end to the rumours, speculations, and the flow of spy shots, Audi has itself brought out the updated 2020 RS5 Coupe and Sportback models. Having a good look at the exterior, we see the two German cars featuring a single frame radiator grille flanked by a pair of new LED headlights with revised LED DRL graphics. And, on the RS5, customers can even go for the matrix LED with laser lights. Then there are the newly crafted large contoured pentagonal air inlets.

Moving on, Audi has also equipped the new RS5 Coupe and Sportback with a carbon-fibre roof, large 19-inch alloy wheels, revisited side sills and rear diffuser with honeycomb mesh pattern. Want more? On offer are the 20-inch alloys that can be had in gloss black or matte bronze, grey or blue finished brake callipers, carbon-ceramic discs, and other gloss black, matte aluminium, and carbon styling elements. Hop inside the 2020 Audi RS5 Coupe or the Sportback, and you will be greeted by a brand-new 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit or Audi virtual cockpit plus with multiple displays and RS graphics, optional head-up display with RS graphics, and a 10.1-inch MMI touchscreen display with acoustic feedback.

Moreover, customers can also opt for the MMI navigation plus that comes with the MIB 3 operating system, RS monitor with longitudinal & lateral acceleration, Quattro sport differential, and tyre temperature readings. While the upholstery has been done in an Alcantara mix, there is also an option of Nappa leather. The rest of the interior remains more or less the same as before.

On the mechanical front, both the 2020 Audi RS5 Coupe and Sportback models receive their ingredients from a 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 TFSI engine that is capable of pushing out 450 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 600 Nm. A 0 to 100 kmph sprint takes 3.9 seconds, and the top speed is rated at 280 kmph. An RS-specific eight-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox works in conjunction with the Audi's much proclaimed Quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system and sends the power to all four wheels.

Standard suspension setup includes the RS sport suspension, and available as an option is the Dynamic Ride Control (DRC) with hydraulic roll and pitch stabilisation. The Audi drive select is now part of the standard equipment and gets two news modes in the form of RS1 and RS2. Both of the RS1 and RS2 modes can be adjusted by the driver to fine-tune various mechanical bits & pieces such as the engine, transmission, dynamic steering, damping, steering, engine sound, and the sport differential according to his/her liking.
