Mitsubishi Mirage G4

This year’s Mirage G4 comes with standard automatic climate control. Apart from this, everything is at the same place as of the previous generation Mirage G4. The cabin is mildly cheap and is furnished with low-grade materials. The rear seats are unfit for taller persons. However, being projected as the inexpensive family sedan, Mirage G4 is the right companion if you are looking for a value for money sedan. It gets you all the essential features like a 7-inch touchscreen display, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, glove box, remote keyless entry, Bluetooth, and four speakers sound system. 

Dimensionally the Mirage G4 remains unchanged. It displays the same exterior treatment in the front and rear fascia. However, this year Mitsubishi has transformed a few elements to highlight the styling of Mirage G4. Like, it has received a new wheel design, and the front fascia now comes with a new grille. The black mesh grille doesn’t specifically elevate the exterior presence of Mirage G4. But, it does differentiate the new Mirage G4 from the previous one. Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is built strong but lacks exciting exterior elements. Like the halogen headlights are standard across all the grades. While no DRL is available in any of the trim. The base grade comes with 14-inch steel wheels, whereas mid and top-grade comes with 15-inch alloy wheels. 

Mitsubishi Mirage G4 fails to maintain the cabin comfort as road conditions grow uneven. In the front, the Macpherson strut suspension enables comfortable steering while the Torsion beam suspension in the rear supports flexible ride quality. In terms of handling, Mirage G4 is equipped with the electrical power steering. It eases the driving and keeps it exciting even while moving in jam-packed roads.

On the performance front, Mirage G4 is still the same slow sedan. When compared to its rivals like Kia Rio, Honda Fit, Mirage G4 is the worst performer. The standard 1.2L MIVEC three-cylinder engine powers it. The base grade is mated with the 5-speed manual transmission, while the rest two comes mated with CVT automatic. Mitsubishi Mirage can produce a maximum power of 78 hp at 6,000 rpm and torque of 74 lb. ft. at 4,000 rpm. The base grade might come with a low price tag. But to get the best mileage out of Mirage G4, it’s recommended to go for the available CVT automatic. 

Mirage G4 is furnished with the standard braking configuration. It includes ventilated disc brakes in the front and solid disc brakes in the rear. Also, the anti-lock braking system, EBD, and brake assist are standard across the range. On the safety front, Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is built sturdy. But, it lacks all the essential driving assistance features, such as lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, etc. Instead, Mirage G4 is decked with active stability control, front airbags, side curtain airbags, front seat-mounted airbags, and driver knee airbags. 

Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is a pocket-friendly compact sedan that meets all your requirements. However, when compared with other rivals in the segment, Mirage G4 lacks the aura to match the competition. Its engine is powerless, exterior treatment is emotionless, and the interior is comfortless. However, being priced under $15,000, it goes right with the value for the price tag.
