With the new enhancements and upgrades in the Kia Soul, it now looks better than before, carrying forward the same aesthetics with revised front and rear fascia. The out of box design keeps Soul ahead of the league in the hatchback and subcompact crossover segment. However, the rear design looks a bit odd and is carried by the unique vertical taillights. While the front design looks iconic and bold with the distinctive full-LED lights. And, the wide grille in the front-lower end furnishes the Soul with a wild stance. It’s available in 16 color choices, six distinct wheel designs and sizes ranging from 16-inch steel wheels to 18-inch alloy wheels. 

The new Kia Soul is your gateway to the world of exciting and fun to drive hatchback. The handling seems to be the same as before, it is enjoyable, nimble and gets you the power to do more while driving in packed city conditions. Along with this, the ride quality of Kia Soul is also smooth and equitable. But, when compared to its rivals Mazda CX-3, Nissan Kicks, and Honda Civic hatch, Soul lacks the sportier elements which eventually degrades the ride quality. 

Under the hood, the new Kia Soul arrives with a new CVT engine available across all the grades except the GT-Line Turbo, which is powered by the exhilarating turbocharged engine. This new 2.0L MPI 4-Cylinder engine delivers a satisfying throttle response and can produce a maximum power of 147 hp at 6,200 rpm. This engine is matched with the Intelligent variable automatic transmission, which ensures swift and balanced power delivery. It can get from 0–60 mph in just 8.0 seconds, which is quite impressive as per the expectations. Moreover, you can get more power with the peppy1.6L turbocharged GDI engine. It ensures top of the line performance with the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and can produce a maximum power of 201 hp at 6,000 rpm. 

The solid body of Kia Soul is engineered smartly and keeps the impact of the collision away from the cabin. However, when it comes to the standard safety features, the base grade of Soul is not up to the standard of the next-gen passenger cars. The only standard safety feature available in the Kia Soul is a rearview camera. While most of the driving assistance features, such as Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitoring, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Pedestrian Detection are available in the higher grades only. 

Kia has amazingly enhanced the Soul, it’s built on the all-new third-generation platform and comes with a new 2.0L CVT engine with improved fuel efficiency and better performance. The base grade of Soul is priced slightly lower than its rivals but also lacks many safety features. However, interior quality and comfort is top of the line, and there’s plenty of room for both first row and second-row passengers with sufficient cargo space.
