Tesla Model 3 set to hit new sales record
Tesla has been in the spotlight for topping the sales charts with its Model 3 and is about to become the first to reach cumulative sales of 1 million units in the all-electric cars segment, this quarter. The automaker has achieved an overwhelming sales record for delivering over 300,000 units of its Model 3 to the customers.
The Model 3 is the brand’s very first four-door electric sedan and bookings for the same have been open since June, the previous year. The Model 3 uses a twin motor setup to run the front axle and the rear and to make the car capable enough of pulling the speeds from 0-100 kmph in a matter of 3.4 seconds, making it the fastest car in its segment.
The front axle motor generates a maximum power of 147 kW, while the rear motor peaks at 211 kW of power. With a curb weight of 1860 kg, the 79.5 kWh battery pack offers a driving range of 560 km (NEDC) or 530 km (WLTP). Model 3 faces a strong demand in the global market and as per data suggestions, the car is all set to break sales records in the USA.
With the exterior design being mostly adapted from its predecessor S, the interior of the car features a dual-tone color scheme cabin with a 15-inch landscape touchscreen. The car has made a record for receiving a 5-star from safety organizations in North America, Europe, and Australia.
With more than 900,000 electric cars sold since 2008, Tesla is also expected to become the first manufacturer ever to reach a milestone of 1 million sales, cumulatively.
