Skoda Vision IN Concept revealed
Skoda has revealed its Vision IN Concept before the car’s official debut at the Auto Expo. The concept car which made its world premiere in India resembles a styling feature of a small crossover with a chunky bonnet and split headlight.
Interestingly, the car gets the MQB A0 IN platform which has been specially developed for India and emerging markets. The modular platform resembles its underpinnings with Volkswagen. However, the production version of the Skoda Vision is expected to be launched somewhere around 2021.
Outside, the car sports the signature Skoda’s signature grille that comes wrapped in chrome surrounds and the night visibility is managed by sleek projector headlamps on either side. The bumper of the car gets a strong appeal which features massive air-intakes.
On the rear, the Vision IN features signature design elements like the L-shaped LED taillamps, multi-layered tailgate and skid plates on the rear bumper. The car rides on 19-inch wheels and gets black plastic cladding with roof rails.
Inside, the car gets a sporty appeal with extensive use of orange and black. Apart from the upholstery with a fancy design, the car gets a 3-spoke steering wheel. The infotainment system of the Vision IN is handled via a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9.2-inch touchscreen, placed as a floating unit.
As the Skoda Vision IN concept appears to be inspired by the Euro-spec Kamiq, the powertrain is expected to be similar to it. The car might get a similar four-cylinder 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, producing a maximum speed of 150 hp and generating a peak torque of up to 250 Nm.
Lastly, the production-ready vehicle can be assumed to make its way to the States somewhere around the second half of 2021.
