Skoda Octavia RS iV teased ahead of debut at Geneva Motor Show
The Skoda Octavia RS iV is slated for a debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. However, ahead of its public appearance, the Czech automaker has teased the plug-in hybrid car. The changes are quite staggering and definitely instill excitement in the automobile enthusiasts.
The 4th generation of the Skoda Octavia RS iV looks bigger, thanks to its beefier profile and body works. The additions that make the car look better than before are dynamic front apron, black front grille, aero flaps on the rear apron sporty black rear diffuser. The wheels are done in dual-tone and exhibit red brake calipers. The suspension is RS-tuned to offer better and more dynamic handling capability.
The cabin of the new Octavia RS is done in all-black, though there are colorful highlights in the form of stitchings on the seats and leather-wrapped steering wheel.
The new generation Skoda Octavia RS iV gets electrification, the first for any RS model from the Czech brand. The powertrain combines a 1.4-liter, 4-cylinder gas engine with an electric motor. The combustion engine can churn out 116 PS of maximum power, while the electric motor can produce a whopping 245 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque.
The Octavia RS can be driven for 55 kilometers on pure electric mode as the energy is supplied by a 13 kWh battery pack. However, no other performance numbers have been revealed yet. However, according to Skoda’s official website for the US, it would emit 30g/km of carbon dioxide on the WLTP cycle.
Along with Octavia RS, Skoda will also showcase Kamiq Scoutline at the show.
