No 2020 model of Mercedes-AMG SL63 for the US
It seems as if the days for the Mercedes-AMG SL63 are over now. Even though there is a fresh SL-Class slated to walk out of the production line in 2021, the lifespan of the AMG SL63 is, in all possibilities, over. Something that further clarifies our doubt is the removal of the AMG SL63 from the automaker's official website. Unlike before, it is only the 2020 SLC 43 that is propping the website now.
Moreover, Mercedes is yet to make an official announcement, but we believe the end for the AMG SL63 has arrived. Besides, there is a brand-new SL-Class in the pipeline, and we have also witnessed a few spy shots of the project that was featuring a short wheelbase along with E-Class props. Also, considering the fact that the next-generation SL will be developed in conjunction with the upcoming AMG GT model, even the regular SL-Class should flaunt AMG bits and pieces.
Furthermore, the speculations also suggest for the upcoming SL-Class to feature a 2+2 seating pattern to enhance the practicality quotient. So, the next we see from Mercedes should be the regular SL-Class and the AMG GT line model. The end of the SL63 has certainly brought the mood down.
However, if the upcoming SL-Class manages to live up to the words of AMG boss Tobias Moers, there shouldn't actually be much to feel bad about, right? Come early 2021, come early.
