New Acura MDX, TLX exposed through RDX software suite
An Acura RDX owner has allegedly identified pictures of two unannounced variants sneaking in his crossover’s infotainment system. Acurazine’s RDX.god stated that “I was digging around images in the com.android.system UI package located on the RDX, loaded it into android developer toolkit, and low and behold, they have had images of the unreleased 2020 MDX on our RDX this whole time.” As shown in the leaked pictures, the facelifted (or possibly reengineered) MDX is a departure from its previous model as it comes with an all-new front fascia with an altered grille, which is fringed by slimmer headlights. In addition to that, the design also features new air intakes and a wide lower opening.
Proceeding further, the crossover comes with new doors with chrome trim treatment and a curve-shaped accent. It also flaunts a revised greenhouse with third quarter windows that now hits upwards. It is difficult to make out the styling changes to the rear, but it looks similar to MDX and will utilize a new rear bumper and refreshed taillights. Moreover, the rear hatch has been renovated as there are less chrome trim and a modified spoiler.
If you didn’t find MDX interesting enough, the folder also included photographs of a sedan. While RDX.god believes they might be pictures of the fresh TLX, we think they could possibly be photos of Acura’s all-new flagship sedan, which is set to be unveiled in the form of a concept at next month Pebble Beach. There are a plethora of reasons why we believe this and the vehicle looks significantly richer than the TLX. It also closely matches the Precision concept that is said to have inspired the appearance of the new flagship sedan.
