MINI offers a sidewalk edition to its convertible for 2020

Mini has returned with its  Convertible Sidewalk for 2020. The current lineup is all set to add more colour option and custom design choices in collaboration with Mini Your. Previously, Mini introduced the world with a droptop ride called Sidewalk, back in 2007.

Mini Convertible Sidewalk

With its updated offering, Mini introduces LED headlights and fog lights along with automatic air conditioning, interior lighting package, a height-adjustable front passenger seat, the storage package, and new driving modes. The side indicators of the vehicle sport a ''Sidewalk'' logo to set a resemblance of the variant. Also, the car rolls on a specific set of 17-inch scissor-spoke wheels with a two-tone finish.

On the inside, the interior's for the Sidewalk variant sport an anthracite leather upholstery that comes mated with Petrol and Energetic Yellow thread stitching. The sports steering wheel comes wrapped in leather, and a Sidewalk logo sits at the base of the car. With Braided Petrol piping outlines, the vehicle also adorns dark Petrol contours on the floor mats, while doors get Petrol and silver accents.

Mini confirms that a six-speed manual will be the standard transmission in all the trims. However, buyers get an option to select a seven-speed Steptronic dual-clutch on the Mini Cooper and Cooper S. At the same time, the DCT with paddle shifters is an option, exclusively available for the Cooper S.

The Sidewalk is offered in three trims, a 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 102 hp, similar to the Mini One. Another trim comes equipped with the same 1.5-litre engine that produces a maximum power of 134 hp in the Mini Cooper. Lastly, there is a trim that carries a drivetrain of 2.0-liter four-cylinder for the Mini Cooper S that generates a fair amount of 192 hp of power at max.

The colour options for the Mini Sidewalk include Deep Laguna metallic, a hue unavailable on other models, that sports patterned hood strips with contrasting edges. Mini also allows the buyers to select in between five different metallic colours, ranging from the traditional palette to White Silver, Moonwalk Grey, Thunder Grey, Enigmatic Black, and Midnight Black.

Lastly, the pricing of the vehicle remains unknown to the interested buyers, but the automaker assured its loyal fan base by guaranteeing that the car will be available worldwide, in March 2020.
