Lamborghini unveils limited edition Sian
After several teasers, Lamborghini has finally unveiled the new model Sian, which will make its debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Instead of the usual names based on bulls, the new model has been named after the bolognese dialect, which means flash or lighting.
The model has a total power of 602kW at its disposal, and it can reach up from the speed of nil to 100 km in just 2.8 seconds. Sian’s hybrid drivetrain has a 6.5-litre V12 engine, which can generate 577kW power at 8500 rpm. It is coupled up with a 25kW electric motor that is located at the suspension. It officially makes the Lamborghini Sian the most powerful Lambo model ever made, surpassing the Aventador SVJ (566kW).
The lithium-ion battery has been replaced with supercapacitors that claim to generate three times more energy than a usual lithium-ion battery. It is located in between the cockpit and engine in order to gain optimum balance distribution. The supercapacitor will be active during regenerative breaking, for the torque gap during the car’s gear change or when the driver requires acceleration power while driving at a speed which is less than 130 kmph. The generated power routes to the wheels through a seven-speed automatic gearbox which can adapt itself according to the driving mode. For safety, the gearbox is mated to an electronically-controlled all-wheel-drive system with rear mechanical self-locking differential. The car also has active cooling vanes which would react to heat from its exhaust system.
The new model also has a lot of new styling elements, which are said to be inspired by Lamborghini Countach that includes Sian’s stylish hexagon tail-lamp. The front lights have also been given a fresh look. They have been changed into Y-shaped graphics, inspired by the Lamborghini Terzo Millennio 2017 concept. The model that is to be shown in the Frankfurt Auto Show (IAAC) is said to have Verde Gea paint with gold flakes and golden crystals alongside lucrative interiors such as aniline leather and 3D printed components.
According to the famous Italian supercar makers, the Lamborghini Sian will be commemorative of the brand’s establishment in 1963. So, Lamborghini has decided that it will be making only 63 cars of the specific model. Hence, we can expect the model to be highly expensive. All the models of Sian have been pre-booked. The maker is yet to officially announce a price tag for the car, but it is said that the car will be highly customised with the Ad Personam Service of Lamborghini.
