Jaguar Land Rover has acquired Bowler
Ever since 1985, Bowler has been creating some astounding and outrageous all-terrain vehicles. Bowler has been leading the race in “all-terrain vehicle dynamics, low-volume production techniques, and proving the durability of components under extreme conditions”.
Vehicles by Bowler have come housing V6 turbocharged diesel or supercharged V6 petrol motors, which have served the off-roaders with more than enough power and punch. Also, the auto expert has worked in tandem with JLR for quite some time now and given us the likes of heavily modified Land Rover Defenders and the Defender Challenge (2014 to 2016).
"For almost 35 years the Bowler name has stood for innovation and success, with a reputation forged by its participation in the world’s toughest off-road motorsport competitions. It’s exciting that we’re now in a position to participate in and lead the Bowler brand’s future as part of the Jaguar Land Rover. At Special Vehicle Operations we are all eager to start working with our new colleagues at Bowler. Adding the Bowler team’s skills and experience to those of SV, Vehicle Personalisation and Classic is a key step in our strategy to create an exciting and diverse portfolio of products and businesses within Special Vehicle Operations", said Michael van der Sande, managing director of Jaguar Land Rover SVO.
Now, being a part of Jaguar Land Rover, Bowler will sit beside the likes of the "SV", "Classic", and "Vehicle Personalisation" branches, which all reside under the large roof of Jaguar Land Rover. Moving on, JLR also announced that its facilities in Derbyshire, UK will, for now, continue to take care of the off-road operations for the foreseeable future.
"Our immediate focus is on ensuring continuity of support for Bowler employees and customers during this transition to Jaguar Land Rover", added Sande.
